Trigger Warning: abortion

what do the words ‘so worth loving’ mean to you?

‘So worth loving’ means that we see the value in ourselves and others, the value that God has created us with and we choose to act on that belief by loving those around us.

when you hear the words dark and light what comes to mind?

When I hear the words dark and light I think of Ephesians 6:12. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.

did you find God in the middle of a dark time?

Yes. I found myself pregnant at 19. I sought counsel on what to do from people who would give me the answer I wanted. I decided to have an abortion because I thought it was the best choice for myself. I started to struggle with the choice I made after going through with the abortion. The guilt of what I had done was too much for me to handle. Something in me knew to seek God with everything I had. I started going to church again, joined a small group for college students, and did bible studies on my own. At that same time, I started to see a therapist. Even though I was turning around it seemed as though nothing was happening, I was so angry with myself, I felt unlovable, unwanted, regretful, unforgivable, and depressed, but God was working in me despite how I was feeling.

what did you learn about his love for you at that time?

I learned that I am unconditionally loved by God. He showed me His unconditional love through my parents. I learned that His love is enough and I learned just how much He loves me. Sometimes when I reflect on the person I was to the person I am now I see even more clearly His love for me and it is overwhelming.

what would you tell the next generation about God?

When you are ready, God is ready. He is ready and He is waiting. Not waiting for you to become the person He has created you to be but waiting for you to give Him the opportunity to mold you into the person He designed you to be before you were even thought of. There is nothing that God cannot redeem.
